Child Safe Organisation

From the CEO

At Community GRO, the safety, wellbeing and rights of children and young people are at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that every child has the right to feel safe, valued, heard and respected, and we are committed to creating environments where children and young people can participate, thrive and reach their full potential.

As a community organisation, we understand the important responsibility we hold in protecting children from harm and ensuring that our services, programs and practices promote a strong culture of child safety. Our commitment extends beyond compliance. We strive to embed the Queensland Child Safe Standards into every aspect of our organisation, ensuring that child safety remains a shared responsibility across our Board, leadership team, employees, volunteers and partners.

The Queensland Child Safe Standards provide a framework that guides our approach to safeguarding children and young people. Through strong governance, effective policies and procedures, ongoing training, and meaningful engagement with children and families, we continually work to strengthen our capacity to prevent, identify and respond to child safety concerns.

We are committed to listening to children and young people, valuing their voices and empowering them to contribute to decisions that affect their lives. We acknowledge the diverse experiences, cultures and identities of the children and families we support and are dedicated to providing inclusive, culturally safe and accessible services for all.

Together, we will continue to foster a culture of accountability, transparency and continuous improvement, ensuring Community GRO remains a safe and trusted organisation where children and young people are protected, respected and supported to flourish.
