At Annandale OSHC we aim to provide a physically safe and emotionally secure environment where your child can explore, socialise and expand their interests.
Annandale OSHC is licenced by the Department of Education and Training under the National Quality System. We are assessed against the 7 quality standards against the National Quality Framework.
Our program is based on “My Time our Place” which is a framework for learning that guides our service to “create a vibrant school age care culture focused on relationships and enquiry”. Our program is enhanced through our service philosophy which encourages children’s spontaneous play and leisure experiences as well as our planned activities. This scaffolds children’s learning based on their interests.
We consistently strive to create a welcoming, comfortable and safe environment where we offer stimulating experiences to assist children to learn and grow.
This is achieved by offering children opportunities to:
- express their own ideas and suggestions
- feel part of their community
- explore through art, craft, physically active and leisure activities
- develop a sense of belonging within their service
We provide both structured and free choice activities with plenty of time to have fun and play with friends. This is promoted through:
- Access to resources and equipment including sports, arts and crafts, drama, science, cooking, toys, games, dress ups and much more.
- Children being encouraged to express and explore their own creativity, skills and abilities.
During the enrolment process our educators are happy to discuss any additional care requirements your child may have. Throughout the induction process and beyond you will have plenty of opportunity to provide any relevant information to support your child in our service.
Before School Care (BSC)
We provide children a nutritious breakfast at no extra cost. Children are provided with a range of indoor experiences such as art, craft, book corner, home corner and construction. During before school care we also offer outdoor experiences such as group games, ball games and sand play. Our educators will transition prep students from before school care safely to their class rooms.
After School Care (ASC)
We provide afternoon tea which caters for children’s nutritional needs, tastes and where possible, individual dietary requirements. The program provides a wide range of experiences such as art, craft, cooking, science experiments, and physically active outdoor play.
Homework – we provide a dedicated room for children to complete their home work for up to an hour a day.
Seniors – we have a room to accommodate older children in the service to allow them time to engage in activities which are not suitable for the younger children as well as time to relax and converse with their peers.
Prep children are collected from their class rooms and brought to after school care to ensure their safety.
Vacation Care (VAC)
During school holidays we offer children similar activities as in before school care and after school care. Children have the opportunity to plan the program along with the educators to ensure it reflects the interests of the children and the varying age groups.
During the holiday periods we also include excursions out into the local community and incursions where special performances or equipment are provided for the children’s entertainment.
The program is run by our team of dedicated staff who are early childhood qualified and hold first aid certification.
Our educators have a number of skills and abilities that are used to enhance the delivery of our program. They are highly motivated and eager to support your children on their learning journey. Developing trusting relationships with your children is our priority to support their confidence and engagement in the program.
Parents and guardians
We encourage parents and guardians to visit our service at any time. If you have any questions or concerns about our service, our staff will be only too willing to assist.
